Before you trade, know the risks of each product. This page is part of the Terms of Use. Nodo does not give investment, legal, or tax advice.

1. Stablecoins (USDC and USDT)

  • A stablecoin aims to be worth one dollar, but its price can move away from it, even for a while.
  • Its value depends on the issuer (Circle for USDC, Tether for USDT) and its reserves. A problem at the issuer or a regulatory change can affect its price or redemption.
  • A stablecoin is not a bank deposit.

2. Transactions on the Base network

  • A confirmed transaction on the network is final: a send to the wrong address cannot be reversed.
  • The network can be congested or fail, which can delay a send.
  • Whoever controls access to the wallet controls the funds. Protect your account, your email, and your device.

3. Tokenized stocks and gold

  • The price can go up or down, and you can lose part or all of what you invest. Past results do not guarantee future ones.
  • A tokenized stock tracks the share's price but does not always carry the same rights as the share, such as voting.
  • They are bought and sold on a market on the Base network. There can be thin liquidity, price differences, and moves outside stock market hours.
  • Tokenized gold (PAXG) depends on Paxos, its issuer, and on the gold behind each token.
  • They are not offered to U.S. persons.

4. USD and EUR accounts, and conversions

  • Balances sit with regulated banking and payment partners. Their availability depends on those partners, their hours, and their cut-off times.
  • The exchange rate is shown before you confirm and can change between one transaction and the next.
  • A bank transfer can take time or be returned by the receiving bank.

5. OTC desk

  • The price is fixed for 15 minutes and holds if the payment arrives within the contract's deadline.
  • The desk delivers once the deposit clears. A delay at the bank delays delivery.
  • A payment from a third party's account is returned, minus bank costs.

6. General risks

  • Laws on crypto assets change and can limit a product in your country.
  • Nodo works with providers (banks, identity verification, networks). A provider failure can interrupt a service.
  • Taxes depend on your country. Ask a tax advisor.
