Protecta
Nodo holds the payment for a sale until the buyer confirms delivery. For buying and selling with people you don’t know.
Protecta is Nodo’s protected payment service. The buyer pays Nodo, Nodo holds the money during delivery, and releases it to the seller once the buyer confirms they received what was agreed.
It works for any lawful sale: a phone, a car, a laptop, a service, or a shop order. It is most useful when buyer and seller don’t know each other.
How it works
- The seller creates the deal. They write what is sold, the amount, the description, and the delivery terms.
- They share the link or QR code. The buyer opens it in a browser and sees the full deal before paying.
- The buyer pays Nodo. By card, bank transfer, or cash, depending on the deal’s options.
- Nodo confirms the money arrived. From then on the deal is protected and the seller can deliver with confidence.
- The seller delivers and marks it in the deal.
- The buyer confirms receipt. Nodo pays the seller the amount minus the seller fee.
If there is a problem, either side can open a dispute while the money is held. Nodo reviews the deal chat, the receipts, and whatever each side has submitted, and decides whether the money goes to the seller or back to the buyer.
Fees
| Who pays | Fee |
|---|---|
| Buyer | 3% of the price, minimum USD 5 or equivalent |
| Seller | 5% of the payout, minimum USD 5 or equivalent |
Creating a deal is free. Fees are shown before the deal is accepted and stay fixed for it. Nodo covers the payment-method cost.
Currencies
A deal can be created in Dominican pesos (DOP), U.S. dollars (USD), or euros (EUR).
Good to know
- Nodo is not the seller. The seller is responsible for the description, quality, and delivery of what is sold.
- Funds are not a deposit. Nodo holds them for that deal. They earn no interest and are not a bank account.
- Crypto can be sold. Protecta holds the payment in fiat; delivering the coins is the seller’s responsibility.
- Nodo may decline to hold a deal that looks unlawful or fraudulent, or request more information before releasing the money.
- An order paid only over WhatsApp is not protected. Protection starts when the payment enters Protecta.
